September Auxiliary Newsletter


Auxiliary Sisters, November Poppy Month is approaching. Our Auxiliary is respondable for conducting our own Poppy Drive. The post has asked us to set our schedule up at Gordy’s Market or any other facility they are not using.

September 18th is POW/MIA/KIA. These loved ones upheld the Freedoms the “Greatest Generation” fought for. We remember Lynn ’s brother, Cpl. Raymond Bernard Gunderson who has been missing in action for 59 years! Lynn is an Auxiliary Sister in our Auxiliary.

Saturday, September 19th is the Annual Vietnam Veteran’s Appreciation Gathering at Altoona Park ; Vietnam Veterans only and one guest. Need to RSVP at 861-3081. 11:30-3:30. Carolyn could use some help early at the registration table.

Saturday, September 26th is the Dist. Meeting in New Richmond; 9:00 Registration. Contact Sharon (835-7529) or Carolyn (852-0339) for registration. Sharon will send out the registration after our Sept. 2nd meeting. We hope we could do some car pooling to support Patti, our Dist. President and enjoy a meeting we do not have to work.

Comrades and Sisters, the auxiliary will be collecting items for the homeless shelter in Chippewa Falls at our meeting. Read the attached sheet for items we can give.Ladies plan to make the Sept. 2nd meeting for we will vote on our “Standing Rules”.

There will be a bus trip to the VFW National Home for Children Oct. 23-25. Registration must be in by Sept. 1st. to Arlene Banks with a $50 deposit. Total cost for bus, 2 nights housing 2 breakfasts, and snack & drinks on the bus is $175. Call Allen or Carolyn for details. 852-0339.
